Wheels and Tyre Testing:Alternating Torsion Test | |
Tangential forces which strain the wheel during breaking and accelerating are simulated with an oscillation endurance test. Two wheels have to be tested per load step. Each wheel is rigidly mounted at a flange at the testing rig and strained via the hub face in a suitable way with an alternating torsion moment (MT) e.g. via the break disc or other mounted parts. The connecting screws and nuts respectively will be fixed with the torsion moment specified by the producer.
Dimensioning formula:
MT = f x FR x rdyn
MT = alternating torsion moment [Nm]
f = factor wheel load extension
FR = valid statically wheel load [N]
rdyn= dynamic tyre radius of the maximum provided size tyre [m]
