Waste Disposal Companies:

Companies dealing with the collection, transportation, storage or handling of waste products can be certified in respect to the waste disposal standards.

For the certification, the requirements of professional waste disposal companies, defined by the Association of Waste Disposal Companies (V.EFB, Verein der Entsorgungsbetriebe), have to be fulfilled. These RAEF regulations ensure that the certified companies fulfil the specific requirements in respect to quality and environment. (for the complete RAEF regulations visit www.vefb.at).

At the audit, the fulfilment of the requirements as per the RAEF- regulations as well as per the specifications of the EFB checklist is verified. Some of these specifications, among others, are

The TÜV Austria is authorised by the VEFB as an evaluation expert for auditing of waste disposal companies in Austria.

The certificate is issued by the VEFB after an examination or a re-examination, at a meeting of the advisory board, and is valid for 3 years. The certificates maintenance is ensured by the annual surveillance audit. The required minimum audit durations is defined by the VEFB.

The EFB logo may then be uses as a mark of quality.

The examination as per the EFB can be combined very effectively to other management systems. The integrated audits on EN ISO 9001, EN ISO 14001, EMAS-VO or safety management systems such as the SCC and OHSAS 18001 can be conducted. The synergies between the requirements of the standards is taken into consideration accordingly for the complexity of the certification.
