The Austrian Standards Institute (ASI) held its plenary meeting on July 14th, 2010. Chaired by ASI President Professor DDr. Walter Barfuß, the proceedings were dedicated to "90 Years of Austrian Standardisation" and accordingly highlighted by important decisions and delightful events. Regarding the current challenges facing standardisation institutes, ASI's statutes were adapted to the new conditions. As part of this plenary meeting, TÜV AUSTRIA HOLDING CEO Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Hugo Eberhardt was elected to the responsible post of chairman / presidial councillor.
Longtime member of the TÜV Österreich supervisory board, Director Dipl.-Ing. Heinz Wanda was awarded the Golden Honorary Pin of the ASI for his great accomplishments during many years of international standardisation tasks and his commitment as the chairman of the Standards Examination Advisory Board.
Director Dipl.-Ing. Heinz Wanda was the first and to this day last Austrian president of CENELEC (Comité Européen de Normalisation Électrotechnique).
Already in April 2010 was his successful career honoured by the Austrian Association of Electrical Engineering with the OVE Award on the occasion of the OVE General Assembly.
