DESFA Project High Pressure Natural Gas Pipeline Ag. Theodori to PPC Megalopolis:

TUV AUSTRIA Hellas conducts shop and field inspections

TUV AUSTRIA Hellas has recently undertaken a shop and field inspection project relating to DESFA’s Project “High Pressure Natural Gas Pipeline Ag. Theodori to PPC Megalopolis”. DESFA is the Gas Transmission System Operator in Greece. The project was awarded to TÜV AUSTRIA HELLAS after the successful participation in an open public bid.

The project aims to supply a Public Power Corporation station with natural gas and is the largest and the most expensive Natural gas project ever made in Greece.

The scope of the work ahead is as overwhelming as it is arguably impressive: With the finished pipeline measuring 175km, engineers will be wholly comitted for two years to its completion.

This DEFA endeavour is the first project in Greece to employ automated tests ultrasonic welds.
