We had an enormous echo to our new, extended and bilingual edition of the TÜV TIMES, after this magazine for customers and employees has now been appearing for ten years. So I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for the many congratulations to the editorial team.
It is an additional motivation to continue our efforts and provide you with interesting and topical contributions in future too.
The present edition is strongly focused on the hundredth anniversary of the Technical Museum Vienna (TMW). The topic of technology naturally connects us strongly with this well-established institution. So there are many historical things which the organizations TMW and TÜV have in common. The Technical Museum shows development and technical progress in many fields of our daily life and reflects the respective state of the art. TÜV on the other hand has very often defined the safety and quality standards for these appliances during those hundred years.
We would like to congratulate the TMW and especially its director, Hofrat Dr. Gabriele Zuna-Kratky, on the successes of the last years. The portrait this time is dedicated to a company which has been cooperating successfully for many decades with TÜV AUSTRIA in questions of safety and quality, namely Wien Energie. This company which is responsible for the energy supply of the metropolis Vienna, has always stood for an ethically high safety philosophy for the benefit of people. In our portrait we show how the gas crisis of the first weeks of January could be mastered with foresight and experience.
Reports about the growing internationalization, using the example of Turkey, or the international R(esearch)&D(evelopment) activities of TÜV AUSTRIA, using the example of the CORFAT project for making transport safer, show by way of example the path which the company TÜV is following and will continue to walk in future too.
The editorial team hopes you will enjoy your reading!
