TÜV AUSTRIA

TÜV AUSTRIA expanding on the Turkish market:

Dipl.-Ing. Leopold Schöggl

Turkey continues to be one of the most interesting markets in the closer geographical surroundings of the European Union. TÜV AUSTRIA is intensifying its business activities in this up-and-coming country through a participation in aTurkish partner company.

We have been working very successfully for twoyears with the Turkish partner BBS AVRASIA in thefield of certification of management systems. Thecompany is located in Ankara and has in the meantime certified 480 companies and issued about 600 certificates as a certifying branch office of TÜV AUSTRIA CERT GMBH.

The successful cooperation with the partner BBSAV RASIA led to the decision to enter into a participationof TÜV AUSTRIA HOLDING AG in theprevious partners BBS AVRASIA and BBS AS.

In this way the services offered by TÜV AUSTRIA will be introduced step by step in the Turkish market with the cooperation of a highly motivated partner with the necessary knowledge of the market, the required customer contacts and successful lobbying. Dipl.-Ing. Cihan Önder, the future managing director provided by TÜV AUSTRIA – he is a graduate of „Montanuniversität Leoben“ – is already very much involved in building his team and says: “Only those who set themselves great targets will achieve great successes. I am happy to represent the interests of TÜV AUSTRIA and those of our Austrian customers in Turkey in my home country and to look after them with the TÜV AUSTRIA quality standard they are accustomed to.“TÜV AUSTRIA is convinced it will be able to giveAustrian companies the best support for their business endeavours in Turkey.

Future Market Turkey

With an area of 770,000 km², a population of more than 70 million and a GNP of USD 691billion (2008) Turkey is the 17th largest business power of the world. The growth rates during the last three years were constantly above those ofthe other EU-access candidates or the new EUmember states. Even under the present general conditions experts expect a further economic growth which will be clearly above that of the EU member states.

This makes Turkey one of the most dynamic of the up-and-coming markets. Besides the production capacities the demand for services in the fields of product certifications, conformity inspections and vehicle and component licenses for the export to the European Community is growing. It is exactly this demand which TÜV AUSTRIA wants to meet in the future with its commitment in Turkey.
