The latestet installment in the "TÜV AUSTRIA Forum of Knowledge" lecture series treated more than 120 attendants to Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Stockmar´s exciting investigation of the ultimate means of propulsion on January 15th, 2009 at the TÜV AUSTRIA Forum in Vienna. The revered expert, who had held the position of head of research and development at various companies including Audi AG, Adam Opel AG, Steyr-Daimler-Puch and Magna International, awed his audience with his insightful elaborations.
Prof. Stockmar explained the manifold developments which had each reached various stages of completion as alternatives to conventional gas and diesel engines. The experienced engineer nevertheless also drew attention to the limitations these inventions currently had.
TÜV AUSTRIA AUTOMOTIVE general manager Dipl.-Ing. Walter Bussek moderated the lively Q&A session. Bussek congratulated TÜV AUSTRIA's guest of honour Kurt Bergmann, who celebrated his 80th birthday, suprising him with a small gift. Bergmann is a successful racing car constructor at Kaimann Racing and also acted as consultant at VW Motorsport.
